Civilians slaughtered by Turkish army

SIRNEX | 30 – 12 – 2011 | Following the MGK (National Security Council) meeting on 28 December, the Turkish army has made a slaughter with warplanes. At least 35 burnt bodies have been reached so far. The number of casualties is feared to increase.

Within these 25 years, ATIK has been able to maintain it’s anti-imperalist, anti-fascist and resistant strong line , regardless of the many challenges and difficulties in the migrants’ struggle for democratic rights. In 1986, when our confederation, which was established as a result of the accumulated experiences; the experiences gained by initially ATÖF (Federation of Students from Turkey in Germany) and afterwards ATIF (Federation of Workers from Turkey in Germany) were transferred to ATIK and the goals and objectives that were clarified during the founding stage have carried our confederation to these days.

ATIK | 18 – 12 – 2011 | The ‘International Migrant Rights Convention’ became an agreed decision during the United Nations General Assembly in 1990. Again, in 2000, United Nations Organisation declared 18th December as ‘International Migrants Day’. In 2003, this convention came into force with the approval of 20 countries, which were categorised as the ‘emigration countries’ and are perceived as non-industrial countries. And in 2011, the majority of industrialized countries which are recipients of migration still not signed this convention.

Comrade Suzan Zengin has passed away!

ISTANBUL | 17 – 10 – 2011 | We are very sad to inform the international progressive public that our comrade Suzan Zengin has passed away on October 12th 2011 due to an heart damage. She had been on the emergency room since 17 days. Reason for her intense illness was the inhuman prison conditions that exist in Turkey’s prisons.
Suzan Zengin was bid fare welled to immortality on the shoulders of her woman comrades in struggle!

TURKEY | 16 – 10 – 2011 | As a result of a conspiracy filed against the journalist Suzan Zengin she was imprisoned in 2009 and send to the Bakirkoy woman Prison in Istanbul. She was working for the progressive-revolutionary paper Ozgur Gelecek (Free Future) after… she was released from prison she had to undergo a heart surgery but she did not recover and died on October 12th 2011. On October 14th 2011 Suzan Zengin was bid fare walled by her comrades, friends and her family..
